Here is a rare and desirable item for the serious Oz collector: The Wonderful Game of Oz, published by Parker Bros.! This beautiful, elaborate game includes a colorful game board, 4 wooden game pieces, and 6 wooden dice that spell out W-I-Z-A-R-D. In addition, the set includes the accessories box, the original dice cup, and the original instruction booklet. The board has a 1921 copyright, but according to the Winter 2001 Baum Bugle, this version where the cover art is on the back of the board, rather than on a separate box, was issued circa 1933. So, the game pieces came in a separate small box instead of a large box for everything.
Condition is very good overall. The board graphics are stunning and clear, without much wear at all. There is a split starting at base of fold, about 2″ long, and one deep scratch on left side of the Tinman, about 1″ long. Total board size is about 19″x19″. The small red box and game pieces are very nice, as is the Instruction booklet that has light wear. Hard to find a complete set!
