One of the hardest advertising booklets drawn by Wizard of Oz illustrator W W Denslow is The Red Goose Book, copyright 1910 by Friedman-Shelby Shoe Co. Here is an original advertisement for the booklet from the shoe company, describing how to get the booklet: “send 5 cents in coin or stamps for a copy of “The RED GOOSE Book”, lithographed in seven colors, with sixteen poems and many pictures, by W W Denslow”. Denslow’s goose had a lot more personality that the more common one drawn by later artists. Ad also describes a drawing contest for kid’s to draw the Red Goose. 5 3/4″ long. A nice vintage bit of Denslowiana.
