Here is a nice first edition book called “Pirates in Oz”, one of the harder to find and thus more desirable vintage Oz titles. Written by Ruth Plumly Thompson, successor to L. Frank Baum. Copyright 1931 by Reilly & Lee, this is a first printing with 12 beautiful color plates by John R. Neill. In the “A” binding with Reilly & Lee in bold face on the spine.
Book is in good to very good condition overall. Exterior is very nice, with a clean cover pastedown, spine and rear cover. Endpapers have age toning and it looks like the front hinge has been glue repaired. Book Belongs to Page has an erasure and another name. Substantial foxing opposite color plates, especially title page. The 12 color plates themselves are all present and in great condition. A hard-to-find Thompson first!
