Here is a vintage first edition of Kabumpo in Oz, 16th of the series of Oz books originally written by L. Frank Baum and continued by Ruth Plumly Thompson. Twelve gorgeous color plates by John R. Neill. A first edition, first printing, as described in Bibliographia Oziana: half-title with Kabumpo following the ownership leaf, and a portrait of Dorothy on page 299.
Condition of this book overall is fair to good only, with flaws. The exterior pastedown has scuffing, the spine is clean and the rear cover has a small ding at top. Inside, the hinges are intact, but the endpapers have substantial toning and foxing. . The Book Belongs to page has a 1922 inscription, and a later owner has printed his name and address on that page and the page opposite. All 12 plates are present and in very good shape. There is some insect damage affecting the top corner of about the last 50 pages with some loss–see photo. A starter copy of a hard to find Thompson 1st, offered at a discount due to condition.
