Description

Here is a nice copy of “The Yellow Knight of Oz”, one of the harder to find and thus more desirable vintage Oz titles. Written by Ruth Plumly Thompson, successor to L. Frank Baum. Copyright 1930 by Reilly & Lee, this is a first edition with 12 fabulous color plates by John R. Neill. Also with illustrated endpapers and in the “A” binding state with boldface “Reilly & Lee” on spine (Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum). Brick red cloth.

Copy is in near very good condition. The exterior is quite nice with light wear. Inside, both hinges seem have been strengthened with glue, so the free endpapers don’t lie completely flat. There is a 1935 owner’s inscription on the Book Belongs To page. All 12 color plates are present and in very nice clean condition. They have eye-popping bright colors; I love the plates in this book. The frontispiece has some foxing on the back and onto opposing blank page. Other pages are in nice condition overall, about 5 with finger soiling as shown in one photo, but no writing or coloring noted.
