Description
This is a first edition of the “Silver Princess in Oz” book in original 1st printing dust jacket, listing titles to Silver Princess in Oz. Written by Ruth Plumly Thompson, successor to L. Frank Baum, copyright 1938 by Reilly & Lee. No color plates, as this book was published after Reilly & Lee stopped using them, but a first edition because of the silver title on the front pastedown, according to the Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum. Variant “A” binding with Handy Mandy on the spine and in a nice red cloth.
This book is in very good plus condition. The color pastedown is beautiful, the spine and rear cover are very clean. Inside, hinges are tight, some age toning and light staining to endpapers, and small pencil notation at top of free endpaper. Ownership page is blank, and the rest of the pages are also quite clean, no writing or tears.
The dust jacket is in very good condition, not price clipped, but with a little edge wear, especially at spine ends and flap folds. A very nice 1st overall!
