Description
This is a first edition of the “Silver Princess in Oz” book. Written by Ruth Plumly Thompson, successor to L. Frank Baum, copyright 1938 by Reilly & Lee. No color plates, as this book was published after Reilly & Lee stopped using them, but a first edition because of the silver title on the front pastedown, according to the Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum. Red cloth; variant “A” binding with Handy Mandy on the spine.
This book is in good condition, with a few flaws. The spine and rear cover have some light staining/discoloration as shown. Inside, the both hinges are cracked, but holding, with the rear hinge being a little messier. Endpapers are nice otherwise, with two neat names in pencil on the ownership page. Pages overall are clean, with light age toning but no tears or coloring.
