Here’s another one of L. Frank Baum’s lesser known books, Sky Island. Published in 1912 by Reilly & Britton, this is a first edition, first printing with six Baum books listed on the back of the half-title page. This copy what I call Wild & Homeless–ie, fair with flaws for the non-judgemental collector. With gorgeous full color endpapers and color plates by John R. Neill.
This book is in fair only condition. The cover pastedown is torn with some loss as shown. Spine has light fraying at base. Inside, both hinges are cracked, the rear rather badly. Only 11 of 12 color plates. Corners of rear endpaper torn. Water staining to corner of last 2/3 of book, including the plates. Pencil price and 1912 incription on Book Belongs To page.
