Description
Here is the Royal Book of Oz, a Wizard of Oz book first published in 1921 by Reilly & Lee. This is not the first printing with the frontis misprint, but an early, circa 1930 printing with 12 color plates. First Oz book written by Ruth Plumly Thompson!
Condition is good plus but not very good, mostly due to some fraying at spine ends and front hinge cracked with the mull (webbing) showing. Front cover pastedown is quite nice. Spine has a little fading. All 12 color plates are present and very pretty, and pages are in nice condition. Some cracking of binding at spots throughout book but everything is holding well. Cute inscription on Book Belongs To page, “Jane Shaw, Fairy”. Other minor wear.
