Here are two nice copies of “The Hungry Tiger of Oz” book, copyright 1926 and The Purple Prince of Oz, copyright 1932, by Ruth Plumly Thompson. Published by Reilly & Lee, these are post-1935 edition with the front cover pastedown but black and white illustrations by John R Neill. Both also with B&W illustrated endpapers.
The Hungry Tiger book is in very good condition. Cover pastedown and rear cover have light wear, and spine is clean. Inside, the front hinge is a little loose but both hinges are still intact. Endpapers have foxing and age toning with former bookseller’s pencil notation in pencil. Book Belongs To page has a neat name. Pages generally clean except two have brown stains as shown. Purple Prince has a nice pastedown with some wear at top of spine as shown. Hinges are tight, end papers have age toning, and pages are clean with blank Book Belongs To page. A nice start on your Thompson collection!
