Description
Speedy in Oz book, copyright 1934 by Ruth Plumly Thompson– the hard to find Reilly & Lee 1st edition with 12 full color plates by John R. Neill, and black and white illustrated endpapers. It also has an unusual red pebbled cloth binding. This title is especially hard to find in the first edition, since it was published in 1934, and Reilly & Lee stopped including color illustrations in their books in 1935.
This is a good plus copy with an intact and attractive color pastedown, nice rear cover, and spine. The main flaw is significant foxing on the endpapers, color plates and opposite them as shown in the photos. Other than that, both hinges are tight, Book Belongs To page has a name. All 12 plates are present.
