Description
Here are four Rand McNally Junior editions of the Oz books, published in 1939. See Bibliographia Oziana plates 118 and 119 (page 133 of my 1988 copy). Each abridged little book contains 12 full page color illustrations (including frontispiece) and 64 pages.I’m also including a rough copy of the Scarecrow and Tin Woodman of Oz and Princess Ozma of Oz in the same format. Each about 6.5″ by 5″.
The stories in this group include:
The Road to Oz (only edition of Road to Oz with color illustrations). Good, rubbing to covers, wear to spine, interior clean and tight.
Rinkitink in Oz (with color illustrations). Tear to top of spine, bookplate inside, waviness to pages. Clear cover applied (could be removed).
The Lost Princess of Oz (with color illustrations). Clear tape to exterior spine, interior clean and tight except pencil checkmarks to last page.
The Emerald City of Oz (with color illustrations). Tear to back cover, bookplate inside, otherwise clean and tight. Clear cover applied (could be removed).
Scarecrow and Tin Woodman of Oz and Princess Ozma of Oz, poor condition with spine missing, stamps of prior owner, pencil markings inside back cover.
Some condition issues, but still an attractive, colorful set.
