Here is an early copy of The Patchwork Girl of Oz book color illustrations and the original dust jacket with titles listed to 1928 (Giant Horse of Oz) on the flap. Written by L. Frank Baum, published by Reilly & Lee, copyright 1913. The book points are consistent with that date, with a deep blue cloth cover and no advertisements on back of half title page, which dates it to 1925-1929 according to the Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum. Beautiful color illustrated endpapers, and fabulous color and B&W illustrations by John R Neill throughout the text. The book also has a small calendar page from Nov 1928, laid in, which I will include.
This book is in near fine condition, one of the best I have seen–the exterior looks brand new, very slight cock to spine, interior clean and tight. There is a name and 1930 date on the Book Belongs To page. The jacket is fair only, with large chips at top corner and top of spine. The flaps are complete but the rear one has marking and stains as shown. Unusual to find these early Oz books with pre-1935 dust jackets.
