Here is a first edition, fourth printing of the Marvelous Land of Oz, copyright 1904, ca. 1914 according to the Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum. While the title on the cover has been shortened to “The Land of Oz”, the book is still published by Reilly & Britton, and has 16 amazing color plates by John R Neill.
The condition of the book is very good overall–the cover is attractive and the cloth with silver lettering and Tin-man is in nice condition, with some wrinkling. The spine is somewhat faded and has light wear at the ends. Inside, the hinges are intact and the illustrated green endpapers are in great condition. There is a little staining at the base of about the first 18 pages. Page 223 has a little edge tearing. All 16 color plates are present and in very nice condition! I saw no writing or coloring. A very nice, collectible copy overall.
