Description
Here is a early copy of Lucky Bucky in Oz, copyright 1942 by John R. Neill, Oz illustrator who continued writing the series for a while. This is a Reilly & Lee printing, with a full color pastedown, black and white illustrations by Neill and blank endpapers. The book has Bucky’s face and a stylized “OZ”, but 32 page gatherings instead of the 16 page gatherings called for in the 1st printing (according to the Book Collector’s Guide to Baum, published in 1947-1948).
This is a very good minus copy with a beautiful, clean cover. Three tiny dings in middle of spine. Inside, hinges are intact and tight and Book Belongs To page is blank, with a small repaired tear at the corner. Pages are clean and nice except for a small ~1/4″ closed tear at the base of four leaves.
