Description

Here is a scarce 1st edition of Lucky Bucky in Oz in dust jacket. Copyright 1942 by John R. Neill, the famous Oz illustrator who continued writing the series for a while. With 16-page gatherings and stylized “OZ” on spine. Additionally, the book includes the original 1st edition dust jacket where Bucky tells the children to buy “Victory” bonds and stamps to help support the effort during WWII: “The Nazis and Japs are harder to beat than the Gnomes”!
As far as condition, the book is near very good condition–light wear to cover cloth, light scuffing to pastedown, and clean spine and rear cover. Inside, the front endpaper looks like a little glue has been added near the top of the hinge, also affecting the Book Belong To page a little. This page has a pencil name and address and a gift inscription opposite. The rear hinge is intact, and the pages are clean overall, with one small tear at the bottom of one page noted. The dust jacket has about a 1″ chip to the right of the spine, and some chipping at spine and fold ends. Light soiling, not price clipped.
