Here is a Popular Edition of “The Land Oz”, written by L. Frank Baum. Copyright 1939; this Reilly & Lee edition issued in response to the MGM movie release of Wizard of Oz. B&W illustrations by John R. Neill. Unusual large format relative to the other Oz books, this is 7 1/4″ by 9 3/4″ by 1 5/8″ thick.
This book is in good plus condition, with edge wear typical of this particular book which has paper-covered boards rather than cloth. The front cover illustration is still quite nice, rear has some scratches, and spine looks nice. Inside, the front hinge is starting to crack, and there is a former owner’s stamp on the front endpaper. Otherwise the pages are quite clean.
