Description
Here is “Captain Salt in Oz”, one of the Oz books written by Ruth Plumly Thompson. Copyright 1936 by Reilly & Lee, this is a first printing with illustrated endpapers and 16-page gatherings, as called for in Blbliographia Oziana. As a post-1935 publication, this book never had color plates, but has the color pastedown on the cover.
Condition is very good overall. Pastedown is in very good condition, but there is some lightening to the cloth along the front right edge and also on the border of the rear cover. Spine is nice and clean. Inside, the hinges are tight and there is a Sept 1936 gift inscription on the front endpaper, and original department store seal on rear endpaper. Pages are lovely with no marks, writing or tears. A nice copy of a highly collectible Thompson title!
