Description
Here is a rare find: one of the Aunt Jane’s Nieces series with intact dust jacket! Aunt Jane’s Nieces is 1st of the series for girls written by L. Frank Baum (Wizard of Oz author) under the Edith Van Dyne pseudonym. Copyright 1906 by Reilly & Britton; according to The Book Collector’s Guide to L F Baum this is the 14th (ca 1918) printing, listing to AJN in the Red Cross and priced at 75 cents on back of half-title page. B&W frontispiece by E. A. Nelson. Dust jacket also lists to Red Cross and has the War Savings Stamp on the spine.
The book is in near fine condition. The exterior is very clean, although there is a little dirt on the joints. Inside, there is a bookseller’s notation in pencil, tight binding, excellent pages. Dust jacket is good, with some chipping at top and side of spine, also at edges of rear cover, but otherwise clear and bright. Flaps in great shape. A nice collectible copy!
