Here is a scarce publication of Old Doc Turtle and Lucky Peter (on back side). Oz book author Ruth Plumly Thompson first published these stories in the Philadelphia Ledger newspaper in 1919, and this is the first edition in booklet format by Murray (1920). It was later published by Donohue. Features 2 full color covers plus 14 interior pages of gorgeous color illustrations by Chas. Coll.
Unfortunately, this copy is in rough condition and is priced accordingly. Substantial chipping and loss at top of Old Doc cover, and a few holes near the bottom. Cover is partly detached to about half way up with a long tear in middle. Interior pages have some staining with a 1922 gift inscription on the second page. Last leaf and rear cover has some edge wear and tears. See photos. One of my “wild and homeless” books for the non-judgemental collector.
