Description
A nice copy of the very first book published by the Roycroft Shop, The Song of Songs (Which is Solomon’s Being a Reprint and a Study by Elbert Hubbard). Published in 1896, in a signed limited edition of 600, bound in handmade paper over boards with a white buckram spine. With the added bonus that it is personally inscribed to Cordelia Maynard by Hubbard. 9 1/8″ x 6″ and has 72 pages.
Exterior is near fine with light toning, and binding is tight. The pages are very good except for a very light stain in the gutter of some of the leaves near front and back–see photos for examples. In beautiful condition overall, and the first time I’ve been able to offer this landmark book!
