Here is a classic Roycroft booklet: The Motto Book, with a beautiful full color cover design by famed designer Dard Hunter. Signed with Hunter’s initials (DH) in the corner. This 1909 first edition is slightly larger (8×6″) than the later 1920 printing with the same cover, and has many more two-color illustrated mottos throughout. Many by Hubbard himself, some lifted from other places and illustrated by various Roycroft artists.
This scarce little book is in good condition, with a few small closed tears along fore edge, string binding still intact. Inside pages look nice and clean; rear cover has some discoloration as shown. A wonderful Roycroft collectible.
