Here is another adorable book by Oz illustrator W. W. Denslow: Denslow’s Simple Simon. I’ve been lucky to obtain two Simons recently, the first of this title in the series I’ve been able to offer. This is the true 1st edition published by Dillingham in 1904. Fully illustrated with color and Denslow’s trademark seahorse signature on nearly every page, as well as illustrated endpapers. Oversized softcover, 9″ by 11″.
This series is hard to find in decent condition as they were loved to death; this one is complete and in good but not very good condition overall. Front cover has significant spotting and discoloration, and the spine has some scuffing. Inside, the pages are complete and quite clean, with center leaf detached from bottom staple and last page with a 1″ tear. Recent reprints abound, be sure to get the original!
