Here is a nice copy of a scarce book by Oz illustrator W. W. Denslow: Denslow’s One-Ring Circus. Copyright 1903, this printed slightly later, published by Donohue and Co. Includes five of Denslow’s famous Picture books: One Ring Circus, Zoo, 5 Little Pigs, Tom Thumb, A. B. C. Book, and Jack and the Beanstalk. Fully illustrated with great flair, nice color and with Denslow’s trademark seahorse signature on every page.
The book is in very good condition overall. Cover and spine are still clear and attractive, with light scuffing to pastedown and some light wear at spine ends. Rear cover has a ~3″ crease in cloth. Inside, binding is slightly loose but holding, with hinges intact except for a small portion and small tear at the rear hinge. Front endpaper has a quaint 1933 inscription. Pages are very good, with some age toning and light soiling, but nothing major. A nice copy of a charming and hard-to-find Denslow compendium.
