Here is a scarce picture book not only illustrated but also written by Wizard of Oz illustrator W. W. Denslow: Denslow’s Barn-Yard Circus. Copyright 1904, this is the first edition/printing published by Dilliingham in soft-cover wraps. Fully illustrated with color and Denslow’s trademark seahorse signature throughout. Oversized softcover, decorated endpapers, 9″ by 11″.
In good but not very good condition–the covers have edge wear and considerable soiling, as well as a pencil inscription at upper right. This could be erased but is so cute I’ve left it–“Joseph from Santa Claus”. Inside, the pages are detached from the staples and have some staining, but the adorable artwork is still bright and clear. Hard to find in this edition.
