Description
Here is a beautiful little copy of Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp, illustrated by Wizard of Oz illustrator John R. Neill. Copyright 1915 by Reilly & Britton, this is a circa 1925 Reilly & Lee printing with the rare original dust jacket! One of the rare Children’s Own Book series, it includes Aladdin as well as the classic Robin Hood. Contains lavish color endpapers, a color title page and frontispiece, and color illustrations on many of the 58 pages. In the rear, also includes an advertisement for “The Famous Oz Books” by L. Frank Baum (last title listed is Lost King of Oz).
Book is in near fine condition. Cover pastedown is gorgeous, tiny bit of wear, cloth looks great. Interior is beautiful, with no tears or writing, tight binding with faint cracking of front hinge. The color illustrations are fabulous and the book looks virtually unread!
The dust jacket condition is very good; a little chipping to spine ends, few small edge tears (see photo). Truly a nice copy of this interesting little Neill book.
