This is a fun old book with an Oz connection–it includes 5 unusual illustrations by John R Neill! Drawing by Pen and Ink by Arthur L Guptill, 1928 first edition, Pencil Points Press (1928). Large art book, 431 pages, with examples of many well known illustrations, including 5 detailed black and white drawings by Neill, with commentary on them. Also includes a few color illustrations and wonderful collage endpapers, which includes one of Neill’s drawings of a fairy with a broken wing. My understanding is that later editions of this book contain fewer drawings by Neill.
In near very good condition, some wear to corners and spine ends, former owner’s bookplate, binding loosening a bit but holding. No dust jacket. Also with some nice original drawings by a prior owner laid in.
