Here’s an interesting real photo postcard featuring a couple in a balloon in Aberdeen, South Dakota, where L Frank Baum lived and had his store “Baum’s Bazaar”. Probably from a photo studio prop that was a “takeoff” on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz book ending, as it predates the movie. The 2025 Wizard of Oz Club convention is in Aberdeen to showcase Baum’s time there. The card is unused and so undated, but is from circa 1912 based on another found online. In very good condition with age toning.
