Description
Here is my favorite portrait ever of Wizard of Oz artist W W Denslow, in an artist’s proof penned by artist John Mundt. John was selling regular prints of this work at the Wizard of Oz Club convention in 2017 in Chicago, and I picked this up there. This B&W print is hand-signed at the bottom “Line Print Proof 1/1″ and with his name and 2017 date. Later, I purchased from John an original color painting of this work (shown in last photo) and so decided to let this artist’s proof version go. It measures 11″x17” and is in excellent condition. Will be loosely rolled for shipping.
Sadly, John died in 2019 at a relatively young age. He was a super nice guy and also illustrated for Oziana and later Oz-related books like Chrome Yellow.
