Very scarce item written and illustrated by W W Denslow of Wizard of Oz fame: Every Day Heroes. Copyright 1910 by Shinola (shoe) company, Rochester, NY. This promotional booklet is beautifully lithographed on every other page with full color, stunning Denslow illustrations. 52 unnumbered pages, with racial images and language typical of the era. This must have been a tour de force for Denslow, as he also wrote the text, which consists of considerable rhyming verse. This is the first of this booklet I’ve been able to offer in 18 years of selling Oz-related books!
In fair condition only, as booklet is missing the rear cover and the spine has been fastened with clear tape. A little wear to top of front cover, with interior pages and graphics near fine. A lovely and one of the hardest to find Denslow collectible.
