Inspired by Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum’s love of printing, Oz scholar Michael Riley produces shorter works by Baum at his own Pamami Press. He hand set all the type, prints the pages on a press similar to one Baum might have used, and hand binds each copy. Pamami books have become sought-after collector’s items and are described fully in The Book Collector’s Guide to L. Frank Baum by Paul Bienvenue, pages 271-277.
Here is offered a small booklet created solely for attendees of the 2012 Winkie Conventions (now OzCon)–The Rainbow Chorus. The one-page Rainbow Chorus was written by Baum about Polychrome and the other daughters of the rainbow, and is followed by a one-page commentary by Riley. There are only a few of The Rainbow Chorus left, and Michael has decided to make them available, while they last. Paperbound wraps; Rainbow Chorus is just 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ in a limited edition of 110 (number you receive will be different from that shown in photo, which is from my personal collection).
