Description
Here is an original weekly program for the Chicago World’s Fair, Century of Progress, Chicago, week ending June 10, 1933. There was an exhibit at the fair that included The Scarecrow (“Strawman”) from the Wizard of Oz as well as the Tin-man; this magazine has a good image of the Tin-man on the rear cover. Images of the Fair’s Tin-man are hard to find.
The program is 64 pages, packed with fair information, a good map, and also includes the entertainment schedule at the children’s playground, the Enchanted Island. This includes an Oz-related performance of Hank the Mule on Saturday only, and Tony Sarg doing Alice in Wonderland throughout the week. In very good condition with just light wear, and a complimentary slip tipped in on the front cover.
