Here is the classic Jack and the Beanstalk, wonderfully illustrated by Wizard of Oz illustrator John R. Neill. Copyright 1908 by Reilly & Britton, this is the later (post 1919) Reilly and Lee printing. Volume IX of the rare Children’s Own Book series With the story of Robinson Crusoe in the back. Contains lavish color endpapers, a color title page and frontispiece, and color illustrations on many of the 57 numbered pages. Also includes an ad for “The Famous Oz Books” at the back through Kabumpo in Oz, dating it to about 1922. These are a fun series to collect.
The book is in very nice condition. Cover illustration and spine are bright and clean, rear cover have light soiling. Inside, the binding is tight with a tiny bit of splitting starting to the front hinge paper as is very common with this series. The illustrated endpapers are clean and unmarred, as are the interior pages, which are very nice. The Book Belongs To page has a 1925 inscription.
