Description
Here is a vintage copy of The Wonder City of Oz book, copyright 1940 by John R. Neill, famous Oz illustrator who continued writing the series for a while. This is an early Reilly & Lee edition, with a full color pastedown illustration on the cloth front cover, but not the 1st printing because it has 32 page “gatherings” (The Book Collector’s Guide to Baum). Black and white illustrations by John R. Neill, with nice black and white illustrated endpapers.
A quite nice copy overall: the color pastedown is bright and beautiful, but does have a little lifring and a fold mark at top corner. Cloth on spine and rear cover are near fine. Inside, both hinges are intact and the pages are in quite good condition for the most part–with an inscription on the front free endpaper and a name on the ownership page. There are also tiny tiny tears on fore edge of both free endpapers, and an original Denver store label and price on rear one.
