Here is an original vintage copy of The Wizard of Oz Waddle Book. Bobbs-Merrill leased its Wizard of Oz plates to Blue Ribbon Books, and this book is the result. This is the 1st edition, 2nd printing 1934 edition without “Blue Ribbon Books” on the spine (Bibliographia Oziana, p.36). Light green cloth. There are eight fabulous color illustrations by W. W. Denslow. This book has been recently reproduced more recently, but this is the real deal! While the waddle characters have been removed, the three pages with visual instructions for assembling the waddles are still at the back of the book. You can buy a set of inexpensive reproduction waddles on Ebay.
This book is in near very good condition overall. The exterior is very clean, nice pastedown, spine and rear cover. Inside, front hinge is cracked with webbing showing but the binding is holding well. Title page has small edge tear and prior owner’s attractive bookplate on cover. All eight color pages (with text on the back) are present and in very good or better condition condition. Pages complete and in nice condition except someone has colored Toto in the waddle instructions at the end.
