VISITORS FROM OZ L Frank Baum Dick Martin HC/DJ 1960 1st Ed Book, with Dust Jacket

In stock

The Visitors from Oz was published in 1960 and is based on the Queer Visitors From The Marvelous Land of Oz, a 1904 comic page by L. Frank Baum. In it, the Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, the Woggle-Bug, the Sawhorse, Jack Pumpkinhead, and the Gump come to visit the United States of America. Described in Bibliographia Oziana (1988 edn) on page 81, plate 55. Illustrated throughout in color and B&W by the wonderful Dick Martin. 95 pages. First edition, WITH the original dust jacket. This book really shows Martin’s exuberant style and love of bright colors.

This book is in near fine condition–tight binding, clean boards, very nice. The dust jacket is good plus, not price clipped, but with a split along top of flap fold that extends about 1 1/2″ only the front cover. Still bright and unfaded. All in all, a very nice copy of this unusual Baum title.
