Description
The Visitors from Oz was published in 1960 and is based on the Queer Visitors From The Marvelous Land of Oz, a 1904 comic page by L. Frank Baum. In it, the Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, the Woggle-Bug, the Sawhorse, Jack Pumpkinhead, and the Gump come to visit the United States of America. Described in Bibliographia Oziana (1988 edn) on page 81, plate 55. Illustrated throughout in color and B&W by the wonderful Dick Martin. 95 pages. First edition, WITH the original dust jacket. This book really shows Martin’s exuberant style and love of bright colors.
This book is in very good plus condition–tight binding, clean boards, very nice with just a little age toning. The dust jacket is fair to good, not price clipped, but with a split along front flap fold that extends about 1/2 way up, some chipping to spine ends and edges. Also the spine coloring has changed a little from medium green to a teal blue. Getting harder to find in the jacket.
