Here is a Captain Salt in Oz book with the hard-to-find dust jacket illustrated by Dick Martin. In 1960, only ten of the Oz books were issued in special dust jackets by Martin, and these were only in production for a few years before being replaced by the “white cover” editions without dust jackets. The unusual Captain Salt jacket cover is described in Appendix 2 of Bibliographia Oziana (1988). Captain Salt was written by Ruth Plumly Thompson and published by Reilly & Lee, copyright 1936. Jacket lists to Hidden Valley of Oz (1951).
The dust jacket is a real bonus to this book–a fabulous image, one of the rare times Martin has surpassed John R Neill in my opinion, with Captain Salt looking very manly.
Book is in book is in near very good condition with clean exterior, rear hinges cracked and front starting, but binding is still tight and the pages are clean. The jacket is good minus with chipping and tears with some archival tape repairs on the back. Not price clipped. See photos.
