Description
Here is “The Magic of Oz”, 13th of the Oz books written by L Frank Baum. Copyright 1919 by Reilly & Lee, this is a first edition, second printing with titles Magic of Oz on the rear of the Book Belongs To page (the first printing had titles to Tin Woodman instead). There are 12 beautiful color plates by the magnificent illustrator, John R. Neill. Points as given by the Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum reference.
In fair only condition–mostly due to water staining at top left of spine extending slightly onto the rear cover. It doesn’t seem to extend to the pages inside. The cover pastedown is in good condition. Inside, both hinges are cracked but holding, and there is an X-shaped mark on front endpaper. Ownership page filled in with pencil, all 12 plates present but a few starting to detach. Some foxing and staining to page. Offered at a discount due to condition.
