Here’s a nice copy of The Land of Oz by L Frank Baum, with an unusual tan cover embellished in black and silver. According to the Book Collector’s Guide to Baum, this is the first Reilly & Lee printing from ca. 1919 (copyright 1904). With 12 full color plates by John R Neill. Condition is near very good, with a wonderfully clean cover and spine–looks almost new! Inside, both illustrated Montgomery & Stone endpapers are split and have been glue repaired (front hinge with mull showing), and it looks like the frontis is also reglued. Other than that, all 12 color plates are present and in beautiful condition. The text pages are overall in very good condition with occasional soiling. An attractive copy of a hard to find Neill cover.
