Description
Here is a one of a kind item for your collection–an original 22″ tall display piece advertising Eric Shanower’s version of the “Oz Toy Book” (Vol 2), featuring Trot herself. The book itself was published in 1994 by Hungry Tiger Press, and this large Trot is hand colored and signed on the back by Eric and David Maxine. I bought this at an Oz convention and I think they said that the black outline was enlarged and printed from the book, while the rest was hand-colored by either Eric or David or both. According to Oz Wikia, in Oz Toy Book 2 “Shanower picks up where Neill left off: he does not duplicate any of Neill’s figures, but portrays 44 characters from books by L. Frank Baum, Ruth Plumly Thompson, and Jack Snow…He delivers a greater number of characters from Baum’s later works – Trot and Cap’n Bill”. Trot is one of Dorothy’s best friends in later books in the Oz series.
The piece is on form board and has some wear–creasing at Trot’s ankles and hem line, two pin marks on her calf, and also some tape marks on the back. She still looks great though!
Oversized shipping on this item due to her size.
