Description
Here is a 1st edition, 1st printing of The Scarecrow of Oz by L. Frank Baum, with 12 color plates by John R Neill, in amazing condition!. Published by Reilly & Britton in 1915 (publisher’s advertisement lists to The Scarecrow of Oz as called for in the 1st printing). Illustrated endpapers. Copyright 1915.
This book is in very good to near fine condition. The cover plate looks great, one tiny flake just in the very top margin. The cloth is in very nice shape, with clean spine and rear cover. Inside, both hinges are intact and the endpapers are clean and bright. The Book Belongs To page has a cute vintage bookplate (Catherine L Sexton) that overlays a prior pencil name. The 12 color plates are all present and in amazing condition. Overall a beautiful copy of this hard to find Baum first; the nicest I have seen.
