Here is a nice first edition book called “Pirates in Oz”, one of the harder to find and thus more desirable vintage Oz titles. Written by Ruth Plumly Thompson, successor to L. Frank Baum. Copyright 1931 by Reilly & Lee, this is a first printing with 12 beautiful color plates by John R. Neill. In the “A” binding with Reilly & Lee in bold face on the spine.

This copy is in very good condition overall. Exterior is beautiful, with a clean cover pastedown, spine and rear cover. Inside, the binding nis snug and the endpapers have light age toning. Book Belongs to Page is blank and most of the pages are clean, but toward the end there is heavy finger soiling. The 12 color plates are all present and in nice condition except for one, which appears to have been trimmed a little crooked . Top edge of text block is a little dirty. Overall a collectible copy of a hard-to-find Thompson first!
