Here is a signed copy of one of the scarcer Oz books, “Merry Go Round in Oz” by McGraw and McGraw. This copy inscribed and signed by Eloise Jarvis McGraw on the title page: “For Gina [Wickwar] with memories of our editorial merry-go-round and with all my best”. McGraw helped edit Wickwar’s own Oz book, The Hidden Prince of Oz. The original copyright of this book was in 1963 by Reilly & Lee, but this seems to be a 1989 Books of Wonder variant. BOW renewed the copyright in 1989, and this book has the plain cloth cover and the BOW title page, with the 1963 copyright page and a full number line. The Book Collector’s Guide pegs this as the 2nd edition, 1st printing. An even later edition has a 1991 copyright and added ISBN numbers. There is also a Wickwar signature on the dedication page dated 1989, while McGraw’s signature is dated 1999 (one year before her death). With a special Dick Martin dust jacket created for the Books of Wonder edition.
Book and dust jacket are in very good condition, with a small stain on the first test page and a few pages with bottom corner folds. Cover, spine and binding are very clean. The endpapers are also beautiful and clean.
