Here is a first edition, fourth printing of the Marvelous Land of Oz, copyright 1904, ca. 1914 according to the Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum. While the title on the cover has been shortened to “The Land of Oz”, the book is still published by Reilly & Britton, and has 16 amazing color plates by John R Neill.
The condition of the book is very good overall–the cover is attractive and the cloth with silver lettering is very nice, with a little corner wear. The spine is clean and unfaded; the rear cover has a little wear and scuffing as shown. Inside, both hinges are intact, binding is tight and the illustrated green endpapers are in great condition. There is an inscription and pencil writing (could be erased) on back of frontispiece, light finger soiling to early pages. All 16 color plates are present and in excellent condition! I saw no writing or coloring. A very nice, collectible copy overall.
