Description

Here is a scarce 1st edition of Lucky Bucky in Oz in dust jacket in very good plus condition. Copyright 1942 by John R. Neill, the famous Oz illustrator who continued writing the series for a while. With 16-page gatherings and stylized “OZ” on spine. Additionally, the book includes the original 1st edition dust jacket where Bucky tells the children to buy “Victory” bonds and stamps to help support the effort during WWII: “The Nazis and Japs are harder to beat than the Gnomes”!

As far as condition, the book is near fine condition–the cover cloth and pastedown look brand new!–with clean spine and rear cover. Inside, both hinges are tight and the pages are very clean, with just a bookseller’s pencil notation and a little browing to rear endpaper. Book Belongs To page is blank. The dust jacket is near very good–a little loss at spine ends, a tear to top of rear and some tearing along flap folds. Presents very well and not price clipped. A beautiful collectible copy overall.
