Description
Here is a first edition, first printing of The Lost Princess of Oz book, published in 1917. As specified in the Book Collector’s Guide to Baum, the publisher’s advertisement on the back of the ownership page lists Lost Princess as the last title and there are 12 color plates w/o captions. This book also has the correct 1st printing light blue cloth and double horizontal rules at the top and bottom of the spine, which reads “Reilly & Britton”. With pictorial endpapers.
The book would be in nice condition save for both hinges are badly cracked, so the covers are a little floppy, but still attached. See photos. The cover plate has some scuffing, but still presents well. The spine has light wear at bottom, but presents well. Inside, the besides the hinges, there are bookseller’s pencil notations on the Book Belongs To page, which is otherwise blank. The pages are in generally good condition and the 12 color plates are all present, but one is detached and a little scruffy. The others are nice.
