Description
Here is a first edition, first printing of The Lost Princess of Oz book, published in 1917. As specified in the Book Collector’s Guide to Baum, the publisher’s advertisement on the back of the ownership page lists Lost Princess as the last title and there are 12 color plates w/o captions. This book also has the correct 1st printing light blue cloth and double horizontal rules at the top and bottom of the spine, which reads “Reilly & Britton”. With pictorial endpapers.
The book is in good but not very good condition overall. The cover plate has some wear and the spine is discolored as shown. The cover corners are bumped. Inside, the hinges are intact, with an antique San Francisco bookstore seal on rear endpaper. The pages are in generally good condition and the 12 color plates are all present, but a few are partially loose. A few of the illustrations are neatly hand-colored as shown.
