Here is an unusual Oz-related book, as well as one of the hardest to get “Big Little Books”: The Laughing Dragon of Oz. Published in 1934 by Whitman, this Oz tale was written by L. Frank Baum’s son, Frank J Baum. Sequels were planned, but Frank actually didn’t have legal rights to continue the series, so this ended up being the only one published under his name. First and only printing. Size of book is only 3.5″ x 4.5″ x 1.5″. 425 pages.
These paper-covered books are fragile and hard to find in nice condition. This one is about typical or a bit better than most, with corners bumped and substantial wear to spine edges as shown. Inside, the rear hinge is cracked but the binding is tight. The title page has what appears to be an erased name or small drawing; otherwise the pages are in good condition with some wear and age toning as typical with this book. A decent copy overall.
