Here is Ozma of Oz, the 3rd Oz book by L. Frank Baum–this edition with a “Slinky Ozma” pictorial cover design by John R. Neill. Copyright 1907, this color version by Reilly & Lee was only issued about two years, 1929-1939, before it melded into a “Popular Edition” with just black and white illustrations. (Reference: The Book Collector’s Guide to L Frank Baum). Book is illustrated with beautiful full color and single color illustrations (more than the usual 12 inserted as plates). Some of Neill’s best work, in my opinion.
This book is in very good condition. The exterior presents well, with some corner wear as shown. Slight cock to book. Interior hinges intact and binding strong, age toning to pages and especially endpapers, light soiling. A beautiful and unusual Ozma; seemingly the first of this version I’ve offered.
